Meet the Boss
👋 Hello, I'm Francis H. Valcourt [AKA Frank the Tank], the mind behind Liberty Daily. Currently, I am pursuing a major in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy at McGill University.
A Little About Me
Born and raised in [Laval, Quebec], my life has been an ongoing journey to unravel the complexities of the political and philosophical worlds. I developed a fascination for politics at a young age, and my subsequent academic journey in both fields has fortified my commitment to a life engaged in intellectual pursuits and social advocacy.
Why I Started Liberty Daily
Liberty Daily was born out of a need to fill the void of nuanced political discussion in today's media landscape. I believe that politics is not a game of winners and losers but a complex structure that influences every aspect of our lives. Therefore, I found it essential to create a space that doesn't just disseminate information but also teaches people how to approach it critically.
My Writing Journey
My experience in writing isn't just limited to academic papers; I've also written articles for the department at Intact Insurance and maintained blogs in the past. This diverse portfolio has trained me to communicate complex ideas in a relatable and engaging manner. While I haven't contributed to the McGill Journal or local newspapers, my background has equipped me with the skills to bridge the chasm between scholarly discourse and public understanding—hence, the birth of Liberty Daily.
What I Aim to Achieve
Through Liberty Daily, my objective is to foster a community of engaged, informed, and critical thinkers. I aim to challenge the echo chambers we often find ourselves in and bring back the spirit of intellectual curiosity and civic responsibility.
In My Free Time
When I am not engrossed in the latest political analysis or entangled in a philosophical argument, I zealously enjoy:
Cars and Motorsports: I have a deep passion for cars and motorsports, an interest that gives me a unique perspective on the symbiosis between technology and human ambition.
Sports: For many years, I played Rugby, Hockey, and Basketball, a testament to my belief in physical well-being as a cornerstone for intellectual and emotional balance.
